Q1: We read a review of Circulon pans that said they should not be washed in a dishwasher, and you should not use canola oil in them. Why is this? Sincerely, Malcolm & Beth Winter
A: Circulon cookware products are non-stick, and the non-stick coating will start to flake off if it is put into a dishwasher. To preserve the non-stick surface the pans need to be handwashed with a mild detergent. Some oils can build up on the non-stick surface. Proper cleaning should reduce or eliminate the problem. However, the non-stick surface should make the need for extraneous oils unnecessary.
