Q1: can i use these products on the stovetop (a gas range?) thank you. tasleme
A: Pyrex is microwave and oven safe, but it is not stove top safe. Pyrex will shatter if used on direct a direct heat source.
Q2: Are the blue tops for the Storage Plus series available separately? I have a few that are cracked and need to be replaced. Thanks.
A: Currently we do not have the option to purchase lids for our Pyrex line. I do, however, have a customer service number for Pyrex which should be able to assist you. The consumer service number is: (800)999-3436.
Q3: good day; i cook freeze and store food in PP containers in different sizes (400, 700, 900 and 1000 ml). Then i microwave the food when i want to eat it. The problem is that i freeze at 35/40 degrees below zero(a temperature that glass containers can not tolerate) and microwave at 750 W. (a temperature that the pp containers can not tolerate. Would you suggest any containers suitable for this. Wheather Pyrex or others. thans in advance
A: I just spoke with a Pyrex/Corningware representative, and I was told that there were not any temperature restrictions for the freezer or the microwave. They do caution if you are going to use a micorwave that you should be certain to use a dish that is large enough to hold your food and still be able to stir it. The food will heat unevenly in the microwave. Pyrex/Corningware also puts an oven heat limit of 450 degrees on their products. However, if you are concerned, and want to switch to another product, I would recommend taking a look at silicone products. Our Silicone Zone line might be just what you are looking for.
